Royal Caribbean

Royal Caribbean cruise lines was in the process of inaugurating their new ship Celebrity Edge, and to get die-hard cruisers extra excited about the new ship, the company created a mobile app that helped to generate excitement for the new vessel. This meant bringing in the head of the cruise line to introduce the ship, as well as previewing some of the entertainment cruise goers could look forward to enjoying.

My role on the project was to work with the agency producing the app, to ensure that the technology was able to support their needs (it was), and to help direct the talent while on site. Working with talent that has either rarely or never been in front of the camera(s) is one of my favorite things to do as a director. It takes extra effort to create a safe place for people to relax in, to be able to act naturally when the red light is on.
